Five years of formal general surgery training — beginning at Walter Reed Army Medical Center and continuing through Morehouse School of Medicine and its affiliated institutions, with Chief Resident service associated with Grady Memorial Hospital — established a broad foundation in perioperative care, trauma, wound management, surgical complications, patient safety, and hospital operations.
